Slí Mór ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Slí Mór app, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo when you register.
• Location data — GPS coordinates while you are actively recording a trail. Location is only accessed while the app is in use and with your permission.
• Trail data — routes, photos, landmarks, and statistics you choose to record and share.
• Usage data — app interactions and crash reports used to improve the app (via Firebase Analytics).
• Device information — device type and operating system for compatibility purposes.
• Emergency contacts — if you choose to add them, stored securely and only used to send SOS alerts at your request.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Slí Mór service.
• To display your trails and profile to other users (only if you set them to public).
• To send push notifications about activity on your trails (follows, likes, comments) — you can opt out in Settings.
• To process subscription payments via RevenueCat and Apple/Google Play.
• To send SOS alerts to your chosen emergency contacts if you activate the SOS feature.
• To improve app performance and fix issues using anonymised analytics data.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, and analytics.
• RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation.
• Google Maps Platform — map display within the app.

Public trails and profiles are visible to other Slí Mór users. Private trails are only visible to you.

4. Location Data

Slí Mór requests location access to record GPS trails. Location is accessed only while the app is open and you are actively recording. We do not track your location in the background without your knowledge.

Recorded trail coordinates are stored in your account and shared publicly only if you choose to make the trail public.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. After deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Data portability (export your trails in GPX format from within the app).

7. Children's Privacy

Slí Mór is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), Firebase Authentication, and Firestore security rules to protect your data from unauthorised access.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Slí Mór after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
